Joint Tenancy normally implies the Right of Survivorship (if it’s between spouses); meaning that upon death of one of the co-owners their share of the property would pass to the other surviving co-owner(s) without triggering any Probate fees.

Tenants in Common implies the Division of Interest without the right of survivorship, meaning that each party owns a divided interest in the property and upon their death – their portion will transfer to their beneficiaries according to their Will.
